Cold Rolling & Finishing Course

The broad aim of the course is to improve the performance of Corus and its’ company cold mills by offering key personnel a broad understanding of the cold rolling and finishing processes and market requirements.

This intensive one week residential course consists of technical lectures, covering a wide range of topics relating to the process route such as hot rolled coil, cold rolling, annealing, pickling and tempering. It also looks at coating processes including the application of tin, zinc and organic coatings. Issues of product quality and lectures on the cold rolled product market, technical strategy and logistics provide background to the technical content of the course.

Other topics discussed include cold rolling theory, strip cleanliness, roll lubrication, process control, metallurgical considerations, tension levelling, and modelling techniques.
