First Aid - Resuscitation

What should you do if someone stops breathing or does not have any signs of circulation?

This course covers artificial ventilation and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. It also explains how to place a casualty into the recovery position.

The First Aid - Resuscitation e-Learning package, available from our intranet site, is an invaluable resource to ensure that you are in a position to deal with such an emergency.

Whether you have no prior knowledge, or need to refresh your memory of the correct procedure, in less than one hour study time you will have an understanding of the theory of resuscitation and the main factors involved.

Simple animations and photographs throughout the package are used to show how to clear the airway, check for breathing and a pulse, the steps to take when carrying out Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and placing the casualty in the recovery position.

Throughout this package there are self-assessment questions with feedback to assist your learning. Once all the topics have been completed, you can choose to take the test and see how much you have understood. On successful completion there is the option of printing a certificate to mark your achievement. The time spent learning these simple procedures will be with you for life and may even enable you to save one.

Study time: 1 hour

NBThe course will open in a new, 800 x 600 window.
