COSHH

Hazardous substances are used in many work situations and, if not properly controlled, they can cause damage to people’s health. Employers have a duty to provide adequate control of hazardous substances to keep employees and others safe from harm; employees have a duty to assist in this.

This computer based training course will help employers and employees to be aware of their role in following the Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health regulations, and provide guidance on identifying the hazards and assessing any risk to health.

The course has six modules designed around the requirements of COSHH:

• Identify the substances considered hazardous under COSHH.
• Assess the risks to health
• Introduce measures to prevent or control exposure where necessary
• Ensure that controls are properly used, tested and maintained
• Monitor exposure where required and ensure appropriate surveillance of health
• Inform, instruct and train employees.
