Vibration monitoring

Routine vibration analysis can identify gradual trends and significant changes in the condition of machinery, which, if left unchecked, may lead to a complete breakdown.  Most rotating machinery problems show themselves as excessive vibration, and measuring vibration levels is the most useful guide to imminent mechanical failure.  Vibration analysis can be used for effective monitoring of fans, pumps and motors.

CNES can analyse any vibration, and determine its cause by mapping out the changes in bearing vibrations emitted during operation when the machinery is still in motion. Vibration monitoring is the best parameter to judge low frequency dynamic conditions such as:

  • Imbalance
  • Misalignment
  • Insecure fastenings
  • Structural resonance
  • Soft foundation
  • Shaft bow
  • Excessive bearing wear
  • Lost rotor vanes

CNES has a team of fully-qualified engineers who can perform this non-intrusive technique actively and successfully across all industries.
