Lubricant technology

Lubrication

The correct selection of machine lubricant can greatly reduce component wear and reduce ongoing energy costs.

With knowledge of a wide range of tribological materials and the ability to offer advice and guidance, CNES’s expertise in this field is regularly used to determine the precise blend of additives and bases to optimise lubricant properties for a specific application.

Debris analysis

It has been shown that 75% of all hydraulic system failures are due to contamination, highlighting the need for regular fluid analysis.  The analysis of lubricants and hydraulic fluids for the debris found in them can show up problems inside the working parts of machinery that are usually inaccessible.  Since most machinery undergoes regular lubricant change, analysis can be encompassed into the standard maintenance procedures.  A major advantage of CNES engineers’ wide range of expertise is using this information to determine the root cause of problems rapidly.
