Pickling Process Consultancy Trostre
Pickling is an essential step in the production process of cold rolled steel.
At Trostre works, the pickle line constitutes the bottle-neck in the production chain.
To maintain high standards, we decided to analyse the pickling process using an off-line static model. The pickling process is governed by liquor reactivity and the heat and mass balance of the pickle line.
The model identified considerable improvement opportunities for the pickle line and thus the target was met and further investigations initiated. Some of the improvements could be implemented immediately and resulted in a 10% productivity improvement of the pickle line and thereby the whole works.
