Programmable Interface for Finite Element Modelling of Forming Operations

What we offer
ABAQUS commercial FE software has been combined together with an in-house Visual Basic programming interface to provide an easy to operate user environment for process forming operations. The programmed interface can be tailored to take into account a range of forming operations and plant tooling along with other factors such as steel composition.

The interface is flexible and can be used to assess any improvements for through process modelling. Increasingly customers are becoming more aware of residual stresses present in pipe and this tool can be used to determine each of the components of residual stress for each individual forming operation and determine which methods of minimisation are most effective.
