Electrochemical Corrosion Testing

Electrochemical testing methods are powerful tools for understanding the behaviour of corroding surfaces.

These methods are relatively rapid, in a matter of hours providing predictions of corrosive behaviour and rates. They also provide insight into corrosion mechanisms.

We have an extensive range of test facilities including linear polarisation methods, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, electrochemical noise measurements and galvanic current measurements.

We can study local corrosion phenomena using electrochemical methods, such as the scanning kelvin probe and have a great deal of experience using these techniques on various metallic substrates and coated materials.
