Primary Aluminium: Refractories for Electrolysis Cells

What we offer

We recognise that there is a need to develop and test carbon and refractory materials for use in the primary aluminium industry. The Ceramics Research Centre has for many years been servicing the two Corus primary aluminium smelters.

Cathode blocks, ramming pastes and carbon glues are continuously being tested and evaluated. Properties of various qualities of refractory and insulation materials have been tested under actual aluminium smelting conditions.
