Noise control

What we offer
The Environment Department offers a comprehensive service in the assessment and control of noise.

This includes:
• Noise related Environmental Impact Assessments for a number of developments including industrial, residential and rail.

• Noise Modelling: SoundPLAN noise modelling software is used to determine the predicted noise levels of installations of new plant or railways and the reduction in noise levels from engineering controls. Environmental noise monitoring surveys are undertaken in the local community to establish the installations’ contribution to background noise levels.

• Environmental Noise and Vibration Assessment: Industry-related community noise assessments can also be carried out.
