The refurbishment of continuous casting equipment, utilised throughout the steel production industry presents significant variations in equipment types, material demands and operating procedures. The monitoring and development of performance is fundamental in supporting our customers. Mould Equipment All mould units are fully inspected on receipt. Measurement of wear is taken to update both CPE's and the customers database. A variety of units, including Servo Adjusted Moulds (SAM) and Remotely Adjusted Moulds (RAM) are all maintained, set and tested prior to delivery on site. Most units include a combination of coated mould plates and weld cladded footrolls to improve longevity of service life. Top Zone Equipment Specially designed stripping booths assist in the inspection and dismantling of all Top Zone/Zero Segment Units. CPE undertake the refurbishment of all types of units. This includes through rolls, split rolls or grid units. Exploiting coatings on both grids and rolls to improve service life. Spray cooling is reinstated in either air mist or water cooling to meet customers standards. Modifications in quick release plates have improved unit exchange times. Segment Equipment Each segment is fully inspected upon receipt, and unit wear versus performance recorded. Roll life and status is maintained on a database. Water cooled housings with through or split rolls are fully tested prior to returning to site. CPE maintain a full inventory of spares that enables turnaround times of all units to be a minimum. Success with new refractory steel materials have improved service life of drive rolls. | |
