Weld reclamation

Weld reclamation

Corus have developed procedures for the weld cladding of most engineering components with abrasion resistant and parent metal overlays.

These processes are used as part of recovery procedures and the cladding of new components alike.

Weld cladding processes:

  • Submerged arc welding
  • Semi automatic MIG (metal arc gas shielded) welding
  • TIG (tungsten arc gas shielded) welding

Weld reclamation and fabrication

CPE workshops have extensive machining and welding facilities for the reclamation of machine components that have worn in service. This can be wear on external / internal surfaces, repairing of cracks and other service induced deformation.

Processes include:

  • Metal arc gas shielded (MIG)
  • Submerged ARC welding
  • Semi automatic MIG welding
  • Tungsten arc gas shielded (TIG)
  • Manual metal arc
  • Thermal spraying
  • Hard facing
  • Repairs to cast iron
  • Heat treatment furnaces
  • Non destructive testing
