The Technical Consultants within Corus Consulting have a broad range of engineering expertise gained on an international basis.

Corus Consulting are able to call not only upon its own specialists, but in addition, process and engineering specialists from other engineering Groups within Corus, who have implemented capital development work on behalf of Corus Group as a whole.

The experience of commissioning and operating new plants gives Corus Consulting an insight into the post-project operating performance of the equipment.

As a result Corus Consulting has a firm understanding of the needs of other steel manufacturers.

Project engineering and operations assistance
In 1988, Corus Consulting was appointed as an independent consultant to advise and assist in the implementation of a World Bank funded scheme for the modernisation of a then state-owned 3 million tonne capacity integrated iron and steelworks in Central America.
Project engineering services
In the mid-1980's, Corus Consulting was employed as an independent consultant by investors in a Greenfield long products mini-mill based on direct reduction, electric arc steelmaking, continuous billet casting, and rod and bar rolling mills, with an annual capacity of 0.75 million tonnes.
Relocation of mothballed DRI plant
Following the decision by a major UK steel producer to relocate its "mothballed" Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant from the UK to a southern USA state, Corus Consulting was asked to carry out a USA location study in conjunction with the plants layout, oversee its dismantling in the UK, shipment to the USA and re-erection with up-to-date modifications.
Works water balance usage and study for future requirements
An integrated iron and steelworks was concerned about its works main industrial water supply, and the implications on future production and environmental requirements.
