500 new castings for Corus' Queen Anne Blast Furnace

More than 500 individually-cast copper components weighing a total of 390 tonnes are being made by CPE's Foundry Products in Workington for the reline of the Queen Anne blast furnace in Scunthorpe.
The task is made up of 156 copper staves, 324 cooling plates, 24 tuyeres and 24 tuyere coolers, and was placed at the end of December.
Delivery will be complete by June 2009 and in the meantime will create a high level of activity for CPE Foundry Products.
