CNES manufactures lifting girdles for largest nuclear lift in the UK

Corus Northern Engineering Services (CNES) has successfully completed the manufacture and assembly of two, six-metre diameter steel lifting girdles that will be used to remove (lift and tail) the 400-tonne heat exchangers from the reactors at Calder Hall nuclear power plant in Cumbria.

CPE, in partnership with Concast (India) Ltd., has just received an order for the supply of a brand new hydraulic mould oscillator system, to be installed on a single strand bloom continuous casting machine manufactured by Concast (India) Ltd. The end customer of the machine is nationalised steel producer Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Limited (VISL), India. Final contract signing took place at the end of March 2008.

CNES has manufactured a 3,000 tonne hydraulic test rig for Oil States Industries (UK) Ltd based in Aberdeen. The press is a complete tension compression test rig, which will be delivered to an Oil States customer in China, Tianjin Pipe Corporation (TPCO), who will use it to ensure its seamless steel pipe is fit-for-purpose.
